Some tricks and tips for using MetaTrader 4
Pips Predictor Signals Indicator
This is Alpesh Patel’s Pips Predictor Signals indicator for MetaTrader 4 – FXPipsPredator
To install the indicator in MetaTrader 4, click on File » Open Data Folder, then copy/move the signals indicator file into the MQL4 » Indicators folder.
Add the indicator to the charts by finding it in the Navigator: Indicators » FXPipsPredator and drag it on to the chart.

Setting Up The Chart Window
Customise the colours
Open a chart then right-click on it and click on Properties. From here, you can adjust the colours to your liking.
Add indicators
In the Navigator (below the watchlist) find the indicator you want (e.g. Moving Average: Indicators » Trend » Moving Average), then drag it on to the chart and set the options.
Other useful indicators include
- Oscillators » MACD
Save Settings
When the chart is set up with the colours and indicators that you like, save this as a template so that all charts open up with these settings in future. Click on Charts » Templates » Save Template and save the template as default.tpl.
